Education and training
Anne Ghisla received her Bachelor and Master degrees in Analysis and Management of Natural Resources at the University of Insubria (Varese, Italy). During her studies she participated twice to Google Summer of Code. In 2010 she moved to South Africa as open source geospatial software developer and trainer. She is currently PhD student at Fondazione Edmund Mach (FEM, Trento, Italy) under the supervision of Dr. Markus Neteler, developing better software tools for natural resources monitoring and management.
Create a stronger connection between computer science and natural science by developing smarter software tools for ecological analysis and landscape management, with the focus on well-tested algorithms, strong coding practices and comfortable user interfaces.
