Gene Functions
Research Group (DGBPF FG) - Grapevine molecular physiology
An essential work to understand grapevine biology after the publication of its genome sequence in 2007 is the functional analysis of the about 30,000 genes which have been predicted herein. Our group is taking part to this international effort focusing on the identification and characterization of genes related to berry development, berry secondary metabolism and plant defense. Beside the scientific value, the outcomes of this research are expected to impact grapevine breeding and grapevine field management.
