Education and training
December 2008: University of Padua, Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences. Doctoral school in Agronomy and Crop Science. PhD thesis: Genetic determination of aroma in grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.).
March 2004: University of Verona, Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences. MSc in Agro-industrial Biotechnology.
October 2000: University of Padua, Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences. BSc in Agro-industrial Biotechnology.
Research activity
In the course of my PhD work, I have produced both transcriptomic analysis and metabolic profiling of berry samples of aromatic and non-aromatic grapes during ripening. A second effort was oriented to a functional characterization of a candidate gene by enzymatic assay experiments.
Research interests
My group is interested in the metabolic and genetic regulation of the biosynthesis of flavors and aromas in grape. In the past years we have produced QTL information from several mapping experiments and we characterized the genome regions underlying the QTLs for identifying candidate genes.
