Education and training

2001: Master degree in Environmental Engineering University of Genoa;

2003-2006: PhD in Fluid Dynamics and Hydrology, University of Genoa, dissertation title "Subsurface flow in a catchment: theoretical tools";

2006-2010: Research Fellowship on Distributed Physically-based Hydrological Modeling at the University of Trento;

2010-present: Research Fellowship on Climatology at IASMA.

Research activity

Development of Free Software for climatological and hydrological purposes. Analysis of instrumental climate time-series for ACESAP-P1 and ENVIROCHANGE projects. Simulations of future weather scenarios with a stochastic Monte-Carlo generator (see R package RMAWGEN http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/RMAWGEN).

Research interests

  • Physical and Statistical Hydrology;
  • Climatology;
  • Coping mathematical rigor in the numerical and statistical methods for stochastic weather generators;
  •  Downscaling techniques and hydrological distributed physically-based models.
