The mission is to quantify the inter-annual changes in the carbon and greenhouse gas (GHG) budget of regional ecosystems, in particular forests, and to analyse terrestrial carbon pools vulnerability and the risk of positive feedbacks in the climate-carbon system. Observations will also include water balance of vegetation.
