CRI activity

Carlo’s accountability is on the implementation of the strategies devoted to the improvement of apple cultivation and production. This goal is achieved bylaunching and managing a program, which collects the currently active and planned FEM projects on apple. Carlo is responsible, among other aspects, for the alignment of stakeholders needs with the FEM research and development capabilities, and for the alignment of tasks assigned with available resources.

Carlo did also took over the responsability of reorganizing the area devoted to the admin support to reasearchers, including the activities of: Finance, Communication, Secretariat, PhD program, IT.

Personal interests

Carlo is an enthusiast project manager and he developed his skills working for private and public institutions. He has been working on genomics and functional genomics of barley, peach and tobacco. He did publish 35 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters in subjects spanning from plant molecular development, to plant domestication and comparative genomics. He is an associate professor of the University of Milano.

He likes to sail, paint and play piano.
