Conservation Genetics
Research Group (DBEM GC) - To determine the evolutionary potential, defined as the genomic capacity to cope with foreseen and unforeseen environmental changes, intrinsic to natural populations of animal and plant species using surveys (at various temporal and spatial scales) and innovative statistical analyses of neutral and adaptive molecular markers.
Study organisms will include those most relevant to mountain ecosystem functioning, as well as endemic, endangered, and charismatic species that represent the cornerstones of biodiversity in Trentino. Scientific information will also be translated into management guidelines useful to regional end-users.
