With intensive research programmes, top-flight facilities and prestigious collaborations, the Research and Innovation Centre is able to produce results of international standing. To carry out its mission CRI has a modern and flexible structure based on four Department, three Transversal Structure and one research centre jointly operated with the Italian National Research Council (CNR).
All the scientific areas are organised in Research Groups and Technological Platform. Research Groups are engaged in basic and applied studies to carry out international results. Technology Platforms are designed to develop methodological and instrumental innovation in the fields of agriculture, environment and nutrition sciences and to produce technical and technological support to the Research Groups.
Over 200 co-workers operate within the centre, 100 of which are researchers, equally balanced between male and female presence, with an average age of 36 years. Over 2000m² are assigned to laboratories and offices, glasshouses cover other 200m² and over 3000m² are used for plant biotechnological field experiments and education of academic level.
